Introduction
NOVA's Biomedical Engineering develops innovative technologies in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of the disease. The course covers a very wide range of areas such as Biomedical Instrumentation, Signal and Image Processing, Biomaterials, Biomechanics and Rehabilitation. The course was created in order to stimulate creativity, initiative and autonomy of students, encouraging them to apply the scientific and technological knowledge acquired, both to improve health care and to understand the working mechanisms of the human body. At various stages of the course, the connection to various health institutions and companies linked to this sector is promoted.
