Introduction
The Master of Science in Oral Biology is a thesis-based program comprised of 36 credit hours of courses, which can be completed in a minimum of five semesters. Faculty embrace an interdisciplinary approach, promoting research training that emphasizes integrative methodologies. Thus, research studies in multiple aspects of molecular and cellular biology and biomaterials, using both in vitro and in vivo models, are possible. The strong connection between the biomedical sciences and clinical care is emphasized in every course. Teaching students in this manner allows faculty to engage and inspire them to discover new scientific findings that may improve patient care, as well as emphasize the need for life-long learning.
