Coordinating University:University of Santiago de CompostelagoalsThe purpose of the degree is the acquisition by the student of advanced training, specialized and multidisciplinary, aimed at professional and research specialization in Public Health.
Its objective is to provide high-level training with a multidisciplinary vision of biomedical and epidemiological sciences and of the methods of conception and management of health strategies, and of modern health administration and management techniques, bringing together tools, knowledge and techniques necessary for the development of professional practice.
General CompetencesThat students know how to apply the knowledge acquired and their ability to resolve their pluses and minuses in new or little-known environments within broader (or multidisciplinary) contexts related to Public Health.
That students are able to integrate knowledge and face the complexity of making judgments based on information that, being incomplete or limited, includes reflections on social and ethical responsibilities linked to the application of their knowledge and judgments.

Credit transfer and recognition:
Recognition of credits: consists of the acceptance by a university of the credits that were obtained in an official education, in the same or in another university, and that are computed in other different teachings for the purposes of obtaining an official degree.

The proposed master will allow the training of MIR specialists in Preventive Medicine and Public Health as stated in ORDER SCO / 1980/2005, of June 6, which approves and publishes the training program for the specialty of Preventive Medicine and Health Public. Point 8.1 of the aforementioned order indicates that during the first year of residency, resident doctors will receive basic training in Preventive Medicine and Public Health through the Higher Course in Public Health. The competences and contents of this course correspond to those of the Master.
It also responds to the training needs in the field of public health of other health and non-health professions, such as Pharmacy, Veterinary Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Psychology, Sociology, etc.
