Medical Studies in Laboratory Science 2021
An M.D., or Doctor of Medicine, is an academic achievement that can take years of schooling to obtain. It is only awarded once students have shown they have the knowledge and experience required to practice medicine competently.
Students studying medical laboratory science typically use clinical laboratory tests to detect, diagnose, monitor and treat disease. They may learn to analyze, evaluate and validate data in chemistry, hematology, microbiology, transfusion medicine and immunology. Medical teams use this data to make decisions regarding a patient’s care.
